The Shimazu Clan are the proud descendants of the Seiwa Genji branch of the Minamoto Shoguns and lived in the Satsuma domains and where the daimyos of the province and where one of the most renowned swordsman clans in medieval japan. The Shimazu were also skilled tacticians and their strategies help them win the campaign to conquest Kyūshū. Another notable thing is that the Shimazu where very open minded to new technology and where the first clan to use musket troop s in the army beginning a new age of warfare in Feudal Japan.
The Shimazu and Satsuma would continue to rule there daimyos until the end of the Boshin War by Imperial Decree.
